Who We Are

Refuge Outreach Services is a newly formed extension of Refuge Food Pantry, which has been serving the Monument Corridor community for over 15 years. What began as a small effort providing 200 supplemental meals per week has grown significantly—since COVID, we now distribute over 2,000 meals weekly.

We receive daily food donations from local retailers, including fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy, and bread products. Additionally, we receive a monthly USDA donation of six pallets, consisting of canned and frozen foods. While our daily donations are distributed within the week, USDA donations are strategically allocated over a four-week period to maximize impact.

Our Vision

We founded Refuge Outreach in response to the growing needs of our community. Our vision is to create a hub of support for the neighborhood, open Monday through Friday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, providing essential resources and services to those in need.

Our Community

Located in Concord, CA—one of the most populated cities in Contra Costa County—our community is home to a large population of immigrants, racial and ethnic minorities, and low-income families. As the cost of living continues to rise, the need for food security and stability has become more urgent than ever. Through Refuge Outreach, we are committed to meeting these needs and fostering a stronger, more resilient community.

Building a better future through compassion

Our food distribution takes place every Tuesday from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM, offering both a walk-up line and a drive-thru option to accommodate our community's needs.

Harvest of Hope Market

We are working to expand our services with a new free grocery store model that will provide families with a more dignified shopping experience. This market-style approach will allow community members to select foods that meet their family's specific needs, preferences, and dietary requirements.

Opening: Once funding is secured

Who Qualifies: All families in need within the Monument Corridor community

How It Will Operate: The Harvest of Hope Market will operate Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, providing daily access to fresh and nutritious food. We will also expand our services to include clothing, diapers, household goods, and support services including financial guidance, job search assistance, and educational resources.
